Nighttime Closures Scheduled for I-5
SANTA CLARITA — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
close up to three lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) between Calgrove
Boulevard and McBean Parkway from 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16 to 5 a.m.
Friday, July 17.
The closures are to enable grinding related to a pavement restoration
project on I-5 between Calgrove Boulevard and Lake Hughes Road. J.
Mcloughlin Engineering, Inc. is the contractor on the $12.5 million
project, which started in September 2008 and will complete in summer 2010.
The project repairs storm damage incurred in the winter of 2007-08. When
completed, the pavement will be stronger and will provide a smoother riding
surface for motorists.
