New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen stopped by the SCVTV studio Wednesday for an appearance on “SCV Today”, the channel’s morning show. The show will begin to air Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m.

Vereen spoke of his experiences in the NFL, the anticipation and excitement of draft day, and how his Valencia High School football coach — Larry Muir — taught him something he carries with him to this day.

“I think the most fundamental thing I took away from Valencia was how to work hard, how to be a hard worker and how to consistently work to make yourself better,” Vereen said. “One thing that Coach Muir always stressed to me (was) just because your talents may be better than other people on the field that doesn’t mean that you don’t play up to your ability… Not getting by, but getting better.”

SCV Today airs Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. on SCVTV.
