Fatal Traffic Collision - Solo Vehicle

Saturday, November 07, 2009, 5:50 a.m. — Santa Clarita

    A fatal traffic collision occurred this morning on westbound Soledad Canyon Road, west of Gladding Way in the City of Santa Clarita. The vehicle, a 2000 Honda Civic, was traveling westbound on Soledad Canyon Road in the number two lane when the driver apparently lost control of the car, hit the north curb line, and struck a power pole.
    The driver, male adult, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
    The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Traffic Office is continuing their investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, and has not yet talked to deputies, should contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121 or Detective Smoldt at (661) 799-5111. The name of the driver has not yet been released. There is no further information at this time.
