Active Assault Investigation
September 14, 2008, Sunday, 2:15 a.m. — Canyon Country
Two men were assaulted early Sunday morning as they were visiting friends, both females, in the parking lot of an apartment complex. They were approached by five male Hispanics and asked where they were from and if they had any money. The suspects then attacked the two victims, out numbering them. When the fight was over and the victims were able to escape into an apartment, an 18-year-old male victim had been stabbed several times. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his significant injuries. The 19-year-old male victim, although he was punched and kicked, refused medical treatment.
After the victims ran into the apartment, the suspect ransacked the victim's vehicle and broke the rear window. It is unknown what, if anything, was taken from the vehicle.
The suspects in this crime appear to be local gang members. Cobra Detectives are actively working this investigation.
