LINER NOTES: People magazine called him "America's best known cowboy poet," and they weren't whistlin' Dixie. He's also one of the funniest. Growing up as a real working cowboy in Nevada, Waddie spins his tales in rhyme and meter and laces them with personal insights drawn from his life as a buckaroo. He turned full-time performer in 1984 in Elko and has since toured all the way from Melbourne, Australia, to Carnegie Hall in New York City — and of course to the annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, where he's guaranteed to leave 'em rolling in the aisles. The official poet of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Waddie was named one of the top 20 artists, authors and entertainers to influence Navada in the 20th Century and has won more awards than he can stuff into his saddlebags.
