SCV Sheriff's Station, 6/8/2011 —
On June 8, 2011, at approximately 1725 hours, a small Cardinal 177 (Cessna type plane)
developed engine trouble while en route from San Luis Obispo to Van Nuys airport and was
able to conduct an emergency landing.
The pilot, Kashif Khursheed (male 40), was able to safely land the plane N/B on the S/B lanes
of Santa Clarita Parkway (cross street of Newhall Ranch Road) in Saugus. Neither he nor his
passenger, Alberto Behar, was injured. No other parties were injured and no residences in
the area were damaged.
